Mary Noah's Glad Tidings sampler is a festive holiday sampler from the early Victorian era. Born in 1849 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, her sampler is a wonderful example of pictorial motifs that were so highly favored during this time period.
Our reproduction was stitched on 32 count Lambswool from Wichelt Imports and reproduced to Mary's original design.
Stitch count is 145W X 174H, and is executed in cross stitch, satin stitch, and tent stitch. The original sampler stitched in wool threads, is in the collection of Historic Handworkes®.
